Margaret Schlauch Brown - 99 - Rahway
Margaret Schlauch Brown 99, passed away at home September 12, 2018 surrounded by her loving daughters. Margaret was born 1918 and lived most of her life in Elizabeth until she met and married the love of her life James Brown and moved to Rahway. She was predeceased by her devoted husband Jim in 2006, her twin brother Richard and her other siblings Fred, Herman and Louise. She was a wonderful wife and mother, a hard worker and was known for her devotion to her family and her good cooking. She is survived by her 3 daughters Betty Lou Findeis and her husband Jack of Brooksville, Florida, Lorraine Nelson and her husband Jim of Toms River, Nancy Skolnick and her husband Tom of Cranford, many grandchildren and great/great Grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be private.

Thomas K. Schimmel, Sr., 85, of Flemington, NJ, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.
Visitation is Thursday, August 30, 2018, from 3pm to 8pm at Corey & Ragan Funeral Home, 259 Elm Ave., Rahway, NJ 07065. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 31 at 10am at Divine Mercy Parish (formerly St. Mary's Parish) on Central Ave., Rahway, NJ 07065. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery on Madison Hill Road in Rahway, NJ.
Born on December 26, 1932 to Margaret and William Schimmel, Tom was the youngest of six children raised in Rahway, NJ. He attended St. Mary's grammar school, where he repeated first grade, to wait for Ellen Conway, his future wife. They eventually married on April 28. 1956.
After graduating from Rahway High School, Tom served in the U.S. Army in Korea, where he attained the rank of Sergeant. He was always very proud of his service to the United States. Upon returning to the US, he married Ellen Conway and they raised four children on Whittier St. in Rahway, where they lived for many years. Upon retirement, Tom and Ellen moved to Barnegat and eventually to Flemington, NJ.
Tom started his career sweeping floors at the Rahway Water Department, rising through the ranks to become the Superintendent of the Rahway Water Department as well as Rahway Public Works, from which he retired. He was very well-respected as an honest, fair man and boss.
Tom enjoyed volunteering in such activities as cooking for St. Mary's Bingo, Mother Seton Bingo, friends, family, neighbors, and especially for his annual Christmas Parties. As a man of great faith, he also volunteered for Nocturnal Adoration at St. Mary's in Barnegat, and was always quick to lend a hand to anyone who was sick or in need. He coached Rahway Little League Baseball, was a registered Girl Scout, as well as Boy Scout. Tom was an amateur artist, music lover, loved telling corny jokes, spending time in the Poconos, at Barnegat Bay. as well as with his family and friends. He was a creative thinker, hard worker, honest to a fault and willing to help anyone. He loved entertaining with his siblings and his own children. Tom was always the go-to guy when you needed advice or an answer. It wasn't uncommon for his children to come home and find one of their friends already there, either in their welcoming kitchen or on their front steps, chatting it up with Tom and Ellen.
Tom was predeceased by his parents, his brother Billy, sisters, Margaret, Mary and Kate.
He will long be remembered lovingly by his wife Ellen, of 62 years; his sister, Claire, his four beloved children, Monica (Steve) Klawunn, Tom, Jr. (Barbara) Schimmel, Susan Bacigalupo, and Charlene Seifert. He will also be remembered by his grandchildren Kathryn Klawunn, Steven (Lis) Klawunn, Ellen Klawunn, TJ Schimmel, Michael Schimmel, Bobby Schimmel, Nicholas Bacigalupo, Alexandria Seifert, Joseph Seifert, and two great-grandchildren, Jacob Bayard and Ian Behn.

John Morro - 88 - Rahway
JOHN MORRO of Rahway died peacefully at home with his family by his side. He was 88. Born in Brooklyn, NY he sided in the Green Point section before moving to Rahway 65 yrs. ago. Prior to his retirement from the New York Water Dept. he worked in the Repair Dept. for 30 yrs. John was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Rahway. Predeceased by his wife Aide Garica Morro 2011; his 2 sons John 2007 and Anthony 2012. Surviving are his daughter Marisol Perez and her wife Angelique Arazosa; a grandson Korey Perez.
Funeral services will be Thursday 10:30am in The COREY RAGAN FUNERAL HOME, 259 Elm Avenue,
Rahway, entombment will follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation Wednesday 4:00pm to 8:00pm

SUSAN D. (Temple) HUGHES of Bethlehem, PA formerly of Rahway died Monday August 6, 2018 at
Lehigh Valley Hospital Muhlenberg, Bethlehem, PA. She was 59. Born in Rahway there she resided until moving to Bethlehem 14 yrs. ago. Sue worked as a Data Entry Clerk, last working for the Sands Hotel & Casino in Bethlehem, PA. Surviving are her husband Cecil "Doug" Hughes; 3 sons Joseph, Steven and Daniel all of Bethlehem, PA; 1 brother William Temple Jr.; 2 sisters Janet Sammaetino and Diane Bettinger.
Funeral services will be Thursday 7:30pm in The COREY RAGAN FUNERAL HOME, 259 Elm Avenue, Rahway.
Cremation will be private. Viusitation Thursday 4:00pm to the time of the service.
Celeste Y (Cherris) Ross - 76 - Rahway
CELESTE Y (CHERRIS) ROSS of Rahway died Wednesday August 1, 2018 at RWJUH@Rahway. She was 76.Born in Perth Amboy, Mrs. Ross resided in Edison before moving to Rahway 48 yrs. ago. Prior to her retirement in 2001 she worked as a Office Manager for Telesoft America, Union for many years. Celeste was a member of the Rahway Democratic Club and was a communicant of St. Mary's RC Church, Rahway.
Predeceased by a brother Steven Cherris 1998.
Surviving are her husband Joseph (Retired Rahway Fireman); a sister Terry Cherris; 2 brothers in laws Peter Ross (Kathy) and Andrew Ross (Lyandra); 2 sisters in laws Donna Roszits (Bill) and Denise Czekay (Tom); several nieces & Nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday August 4th, 2018 at 10:30am in The COREY RAGAN FUNERAL HOME, 259 Elm Avenue, Rahway.
Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Clark. Visitation Saturday 9:30am to service time.
Jacqueline Ward - 99 - Rahway
JACQUELINE I WARD passed away peacefully Saturday July 21, 2018 at her residence at Independence Manor
in Flemington. She was 99. Born in Queens, NY, Mrs. Ward resided in Rahway for most of her life, where she
and her late husband of 54 years Hazen Ward raised their family. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and reading, but most of all being with her family and grand-dogs, with her favorite holiday being Christmas. Predeceased by her siblings Julie Evers and Marcel DesChamps.
Surviving are 2 sons Douglas and his wife Barbara of Pittstown, Timothy and his wife Mary Beth of Vienna, Virginia; 1 daughter Theresa "Teri" Kaminski and her husband George; 4 grandchildren Jennifer Renna and her husband Peter, Stephanie Bassler and her husband Andrew, Zack Kaminski and Katie Ward. The family would like to thank Independence Manor and Hunterdon Hospice for the care and comfort Jackie Received.

Rudolph "Rudy" Biddar Jr. - Rahway
RUDOLPH "Rudy" BIDDAR JR. of Rahway died peacefully Thursdays July 19th 2018 at the Center for Hope Hospice, Scotch Plains. Rudy was born in Rahway and lived there all of his life. Prior to his retirement in 2001, he worked as a Warehouse Supervisor for many years with Public Warehouse & Distribution Center, Jersey City. Rudy proudly served his country during the Vietnam era serving in the US Army. He was a communicant of St. Mary's RC Church, Rahway. Rudy loved to play Golf. Predeceased by his brother Ronald 1977. Surviving are his wife of 36 yrs. Patricia (Moller) Biddar; Cousins Eugene Currie (Marie), Yolanda Grzelak (Patrick), Terry Ziekel (Arthur), Marjorie Kadas (Arthur), Pamela Leffler (Bill), Susan Gondola, Judith Ann Shorter, Sharon Brosanski Sidney Higley (Nancy), Ellen Holub and James O'Dea Jr..
