Susan D. (Temple) Hughes -  59 - Bethlehem

SUSAN D. (Temple) HUGHES of Bethlehem, PA formerly of Rahway died Monday August 6, 2018 at
Lehigh Valley Hospital Muhlenberg, Bethlehem, PA. She was 59. Born in Rahway there she resided until moving to Bethlehem 14 yrs. ago. Sue worked as a Data Entry Clerk, last working for the Sands Hotel & Casino in Bethlehem, PA. Surviving are her husband Cecil "Doug" Hughes; 3 sons Joseph, Steven and Daniel all of Bethlehem, PA; 1 brother William Temple Jr.; 2 sisters Janet Sammaetino and Diane Bettinger.
Funeral services will be Thursday 7:30pm in The COREY RAGAN FUNERAL HOME, 259 Elm Avenue, Rahway.
Cremation will be private. Viusitation Thursday 4:00pm to the time of the service.

Celeste Y (Cherris) Ross - 76 - Rahway

CELESTE Y (CHERRIS) ROSS of Rahway died Wednesday August 1, 2018 at RWJUH@Rahway. She was 76.Born in Perth Amboy, Mrs. Ross resided in Edison before moving to Rahway 48 yrs. ago. Prior to her retirement in 2001 she worked as a Office Manager for Telesoft America, Union for many years. Celeste was a member of the Rahway Democratic Club and was a communicant of St. Mary's RC Church, Rahway.
Predeceased by a brother Steven Cherris 1998.
Surviving are her husband Joseph (Retired Rahway Fireman); a sister Terry Cherris; 2 brothers in laws Peter Ross (Kathy) and Andrew Ross (Lyandra); 2 sisters in laws Donna Roszits (Bill) and Denise Czekay (Tom); several nieces & Nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday August 4th, 2018 at 10:30am in The COREY RAGAN FUNERAL HOME, 259 Elm Avenue, Rahway.
Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Clark. Visitation Saturday 9:30am to service time.

Jacqueline Ward - 99 - Rahway

JACQUELINE I WARD passed away peacefully Saturday July 21, 2018 at her residence at Independence Manor
in Flemington. She was 99. Born in Queens, NY, Mrs. Ward resided in Rahway for most of her life, where she
and her late husband of 54 years Hazen Ward raised their family. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and reading, but most of all being with her family and grand-dogs, with her favorite holiday being Christmas. Predeceased by her siblings Julie Evers and Marcel DesChamps.
Surviving are 2 sons Douglas and his wife Barbara of Pittstown, Timothy and his wife Mary Beth of Vienna, Virginia; 1 daughter Theresa "Teri" Kaminski and her husband George; 4 grandchildren Jennifer Renna and her husband Peter, Stephanie Bassler and her husband Andrew, Zack Kaminski and Katie Ward. The family would like to thank Independence Manor and Hunterdon Hospice for the care and comfort Jackie Received.
Funeral services will be Monday 11:00am in The COREY RAGAN FUNERAL HOME, 259 Elm Avenue, Rahway.

Rudolph "Rudy" Biddar Jr. - Rahway

RUDOLPH "Rudy" BIDDAR JR. of Rahway died peacefully Thursdays July 19th 2018 at the Center for Hope Hospice, Scotch Plains. Rudy was born in Rahway and lived there all of his life. Prior to his retirement in 2001, he worked as a Warehouse Supervisor for many years with Public Warehouse & Distribution Center, Jersey City. Rudy proudly served his country during the Vietnam era serving in the US Army. He was a communicant of St. Mary's RC Church, Rahway. Rudy loved to play Golf. Predeceased by his brother Ronald 1977. Surviving are his wife of 36 yrs. Patricia (Moller) Biddar; Cousins Eugene Currie (Marie), Yolanda Grzelak (Patrick), Terry Ziekel (Arthur), Marjorie Kadas (Arthur), Pamela Leffler (Bill), Susan Gondola, Judith Ann Shorter, Sharon Brosanski Sidney Higley (Nancy), Ellen Holub and James O'Dea Jr.. Eugene F. Best - 93 - Colonia

EUGENE F BEST died Tuesday June 25 2018 at Father Hudson House , Elizabeth. He was 93. Born in Rahway, moving to Colonia 58 yrs. ago. He was a communicant of St. Mary's RC Church for over forty years, then he attended Church at St. John Vianney in Colonia.
Prior to his retirement in 1990 he worked in the Auto Body Industry for 40 yrs. Eugene was a WWII US Army Veteran and he was a member of the Rahway American Legion Post 5. Predeceased by his wife Helen (Saley) Best in 2000. Surviving are a daughter Ellen Trudel and her husband Tom of Colonia; 1 grandson Ryan.
Funeral services will be Friday 9:15 AM from The COREY RAGAN FUNERAL HOME, 259 Elm Avenue, Rahway thence to St. Mary's RC Church/Devine Mercy Parish, Rahway for a 10 AM funeral Liturgy. Interment to
follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Clark. Visitation Thursday 6:00pm to 9:00pm at funeral home.

James Falesky - 86 - Rahway​

JAMES FALESKY of Rahway died Friday June 22, 2018 the day before his 86th birthday at Cedar Oaks Care Center, South Plainfield. He was 85. Born in Rahway, Jim resided in Rahway all of his life. Prior to his retirement in 1990, he was a Fireman for 35 years with the Rahway Fire Dept., a member of the Rahway FMBA Local 33 and the Rahway Excepts Assoc. he also was a member of the Allamuchy Rod and Gun Club. Predeceased by his wife Alice in 2000; 3 brothers and 1 sister. Surviving are 2 nephews Bob Peterson and his wife MaryAnn and Andrew Peterson and his wife Ellen; 1 nieces Elaine Russoniello and her husband Pat Joseph; several grand nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday 9:15am from The COREY RAGAN FUNERAL HOME, 259 Elm Avenue, Rahway followed by a 10:00am Office of Christian Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle Byzantine Catholic Church, Rahway. Cremation Private. Visitation Monday 3:00pm to 7:00pm at the funeral home. Rahway Fire Dept. services 5:30pm and Parastas services at 6:00pm.

Winifred A. Alexander - 94 - Rahway​

Winifred A. Alexander, 94, of Rahway passed away on Monday, June 4, 2018 in Hackettstown. Born in Rahway and a resident for most of her life, she was the eldest of eight children. Winnie was an active parishioner of St. Mark’s RC Church where she was a member of the St. Ann’s Society and an alto voice in the inspiring St. Mark’s Choir for many decades. She had a love of gardening, painting, and was an avid reader. After her husband Harry’s death in 1990, Winnie continued to thrive, spending time traveling with friends and driving until she was ninety years old. A loving mother to her four children, Winne was a forever youthful and kind soul.

 She is survived by her four children, Ann Powers, Frances Carmody and husband Stuart, James Alexander and Wife Pennie, and Richard Alexander and wife Anne; her five grandchildren Kathy, Jackie, Lauren, Emma and David; her brothers Charles and Henry; and her sisters Arlene Traynor, Caroline Cherry, Joan Shuster, and Frances Butler.  

 Funeral services will begin at 9:00 AM on Friday from the Corey-Ragan Funeral Home, 259 Elm Avenue, Rahway, followed by a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's RC Church, Rahway. Interment will be in Hazelwood Cemetery, West Lake Avenue, Rahway. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Corey-Ragan Funeral Home.










George Zielenbach III - 63 - Middletown

GEORGE ZIELENBACH III of Middletown died suddenly Monday May 7th 2018 at home. He was 63. Born in Jersey City , resided in Roselle before moving to Middletown 44 yrs. ago. Prior to becoming disabled he worked as a Machine Operator with Hyatt Roller Bearing a division of GM located in Clark. Predeceased by a sister Elizabeth 2012. Surviving are his wife Deborah (Hauschild) Zielenbach; his daughter Dana and her husband Jason and their son Liam Bennett; 2 sisters Maryellen Asch & Barbara Clark; several Nieces & Nephews and 1 special nephew Luke. Memorial Mass will be offered Saturday May 19th, 2018 at Holy Trinity RC Church, 315 1st Street Westfield, NJ at 2:00pm.
